HTNG Forms Guest Room Entertainment Strategies Workgroup

Information Technology Guestroom Technology

Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) launches a new workgroup focusing on guest room entertainment to help improve buying strategies, technology research and development investment, along with the creation of a content strategy roadmap.

HTNG will engage hospitality, technology and content production companies to produce market data and research to inform the industry on the current state of guest room entertainment usage across content providers, over-the-top delivery technologies and guest preferences for numerous service offerings in various hospitality segments.

The workgroup will create an industry statement of hospitality needs that drives traditionally non-hospitality device original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to the table. Additionally, the group will define protocols for device OEMs to adopt that enable industry standards based on the previous research.

The Guest Room Entertainment Strategies Workgroup already includes pre-charter participation from the following companies: 5thGenWireless*, AT&T, Broadband Hospitality (Allin Interactive), Charter, Choice Hotels*, CNN, Crave Interactive, Cox Business, Enseo, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, HBO*, Hospitality Wi-Fi*, InnSpire, Interstate Hotels, interTouch, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Marriott International, Montage Hotels, RoomNet TV, Showtime*, Sonifi, Turner*, Volara and White Lodging. (*indicates an individual of the company is an Interim Co-Chair of the group)

The kick-off teleconference will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m. Central. HTNG members can join the workgroup after signing in here.
