The educational institute is the most well-known organization for vocational training in the southern region of Oulu and plays a key role in the development of its economy. Managed by a coalition of 13 municipalities, JEDU operates in seven locations across Finland. Approximately 3,000 students are enrolled in JEDU, training for careers in a variety of fields, including tourism and service, agriculture and forestry, and health and wellness. In Vocational Qualification in Tourism industry, JEDU Kalajoki educate students for travel agents, hotel desk clerks or tourism activities organizers. More than 70 percent of JEDU hospitality graduates land positions in the region.
