Deng began his career in hospitality finance. During the course of his career development, he began to devote himself to operations, as well. Now, Deng heads hotel operations, not only on the property level, but also company-wide. "I gradually found that finance is the base of all business decisions, and ultimately the target of operational strategy," said Deng. "I came to know CHAE and HFTP coincidentally. After learning about the CHAE, I found that the process of obtaining my certification was very useful to sorting out all kinds of questions that surround daily operations.
"I am very surprised and honored to be selected as the CHAE of 2019," he said, upon receiving notice of his award. "I believe it is a most memorable honor during my career in hospitality. I am very happy to have received a good score on my CHAE examination; however, what makes me even happier is what I have taken away from this course of learning.
"I have recommended HFTP and the CHAE designation to my friends in the hotel industry, because I am a firm believer that it is very helpful in both thinking and decision-making," Deng continued.
The CHAE professional designation is an industry designation showing competency in the area of accounting, and is acknowledged throughout the hospitality industry as it elevates the professionalism of both the recipient and the industry. More than 1,500 hospitality accountants, from several countries, have earned the CHAE designation through HFTP since the certification program began in 1981. A new CHAE exam is now available, and features a more global finance focus. HFTP also administers the examination and awards the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP®).
