HFTP Sponsored HOSPACE 2016, HOSPA’s Annual Educational Conference and Exhibition in London

HFTP’s onsite representatives presented on hot industry topics and received an Outstanding Contribution award

Global hospitality association Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) was pleased to sponsor HOSPACE 2016 in London last week. HFTP association leaders in attendance presented on topics such as user experience design, and received an award for outstanding contribution. HOSPACE took place on November 10, 2016 at the Sofitel London Heathrow hotel in London. The one-day annual conference and exhibition was hosted by Hospitality Finance, Revenue and IT Professionals (HOSPA), the United Kingdom's leading educational organization for professionals involved in financial management, revenue management and IT within the hospitality industry.

HOSPACE 2016 enabled international delegates to get an informed and cutting-edge view from a global lineup of inspirational experts – all icons in their own field – about the latest key financial, revenue and IT management issues and developments; as well as the commercial aspects that connect these together to maximize profitability and create value. HFTP representatives participated in the educational program and exhibition at this year's event.

HFTP Global President Lyle Worthington, CHTP, spoke about "Designing the User Experience" at the conference. Worthington's workshop presentation explained the art and science behind user experience design, showed examples of why it is important and discussed ways to improve the overall user experience. HFTP COO Lucinda Hart, CAE, MBA, and HFTP COO Europe Carl Weldon were also onsite at the conference.

Weldon received an "Outstanding Contribution" award from HOSPA recognizing his tremendous contributions that have been influential to the association's success in recent years. Weldon served as the Chief Executive at HOSPA for over 10 years before joining HFTP in March. Bringing over 30 years of hospitality experience, primarily from Europe, Weldon is currently a key strategist for HFTP's global expansion.

In regard to HFTP's global expansion efforts, the association will host its premier HITEC Amsterdam in March 2017 while producing the larger HITEC Toronto in June 2017.
